Events

No prior knowledge is needed to come to any event. If necessary, on-the-job training will be given. Please feel welcome to come on the botanical walks or working bees to take photographs, watch birds, write poetry, hone up your identification skills or let the bush soothe your soul. The only essential is that you enjoy and appreciate the rainforest. Bring water, insect repellent and hat. Long trousers and short sleeves are usually a good idea. Also, depending on the starting and ending times of the event, you may want to bring a snack or lunch.

Directions: Take the Bruce Highway north from Brisbane to the Kenilworth-Skyring Ck Road turnoff which is about 30km north of the Eumundi. The sign for the turnoff is also labelled as part of the Mary Valley Tourist drive (a big brown sign) and indicates that the road will take you to Imbil, Borumba Dam and Kandanga. Follow the Kenilworth-Skyring Ck Rd. till you reach the T intersection with the Tuchekoi Rd and turn right (again following the brown Mary Valley tourist drive sign). Follow this road for about 5km until you meet another T intersection which is the main Mary Valley Rd (also called the Gympie-Brooloo Rd). Take a right turn at this intersection and head towards Kandanga for about 2.7 km and you will see our turnoff Hyne estate Rd (a dirt road)on your left just before the main road climbs a small hill. Follow Hyne Estate rd for a couple of hundred metres and we are the first house No. 66, you can't miss it, it has six big hoop pines in the front yard.
