| Distribution: Clarence River, NSW to Eungella, Nth QLD. | ||
| Habitat: Subtropical, dry and riverine rainforest | ||
| Form: Small-medium tree to 15m tall. | ||
| Leaves: | ||
| Flower: Flowers are pink/cream to red/yellow in short bunches at branchlet ends from October-December. | ||
| Fruit: Fruit is a dark red wrinkled capsule which splits into two with a single black seed inside. Ripe February-May. | ||
| Garden Use: It has possibilities as long as you don't mind the prickles. The glossy, dark green foliage is ornamental. | ||
| Edible?: No. | ||
| Propagation: Propagate from fresh seed (germination erratic. | ||
| Comments: Small plants have slender rigid prickles which become conical, woody thorns on older trees. | ||
