Small tree to 15m with fluted trunk, with bipinnate leaves in subtropical, warm-temperate and littoral rainforest, north from Port Macquarie, NSW.

The epithet refers to the leaves which are made up of pairs of pinnae, opposite along the rachis, resulting In a very large leaf overall.
