Tree to 12 m near rainforest margins, or in isolated clumps in woodland or Brigalow scrub, usually on disturbed sites.
Bark smooth, purple-brown, becoming corky.
Pendant leaves with long, gradually narrowing tip after abrupt narrowing around two thirds the way along.
Male flowers are pedicels with numerous stamens. Female flowers are pedicels with up to 60 carpels.
Fruit is a bell shaped column with wrinkled, C-shaped seeds.
