Cryptocarya triplinervis (LAURACEAE); Three-veined laurel Small to medium tree to 12m. Found in littoral, riverine rainforest from Macleay River, NSW to the Daintree River, Nth Qld. Flowers are green, pale and slightly fragrant. Sept - Dec. Fruit is a purplish/black fleshy drupe. Ripe Feb - May. Attractive small bushy tree for average sized gardens. Attracts birds. Dense crown of dark green leaves. Not edible. Propagates from fresh seed, removed from the flesh. Germination is reliable and takes up to 2 months. Fruit eaten by Topknot pigeon.
